Local Area Plan for Urban Renewal of Gheekanta, Ahmedabad

This project focuses on revitalizing Gheekanta, a heritage-rich precinct in Ahmedabad’s Old City, in response to the newly developed metro station. The plan aims to enhance livability while preserving the area's historical character through heritage-sensitive zoning, transit-oriented development, and infrastructure improvements. Key interventions include form-based zoning, heritage conservation strategies, public realm enhancements, mobility and parking management, and financial mechanisms like heritage TDR (Transferable Development Rights). The project integrates stakeholder consultations and global urban planning models to create a sustainable and inclusive vision for the neighborhood's future.
